Location
The Philippines are found in Southeast Asia, in the western Pacific Ocean.It is made up of approximately 7,641 islands.The Philippines is surrounded by the Pacific Ocean, South China Sea, Sulu Sea, and Celebes Sea. Its coastline stretches over 36,000 kilometers, one of the longest in the world.
Geography
Around 70% of the land area of the Philippines is mountainous, with many active volcanoes. There are also tropical rainforests, coral reefs, and manny extensive river systems.

Natural Disasters
Many active volcanoes result in moderately frequent eruptions. Typhoons are very common along with landslides,floods, and earthquakes. These are all mostly caused by the location of The Philippines which is on the Pacific "Ring of Fire".
